At our photo shoot this Sunday, our guests decorated paper party hats. It was a really fun activity. I’ve always had the bias that party hats might be more of a little kid thing, but these 7-1/2 year olds loved their hats.

So it got me thinking about all the lovely hats I see created by ladies who can really craft a hat. I turned to Etsy and wanted to share some inspiration with you. We only have three more weeks of summer and each weekend is half booked. Crazy. I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone and that my babies will soon be second graders. But summer is not over and the girls still have some big plans in mind. The other day, Meg said, “We need a Summer Fun Jar like our Christmas Fun Jar.” I swear, these two are like living with a walking, talking Pinterest board.

I was trying to make dinner when this brainstorm hit Meg, so I said, “Great idea! Why don’t you two write down everything you want to do?” I’m going to surprise them with this Summer Fun Jar.

I thought you might enjoy taking a peek behind the scenes today. On Sunday, we had our Flower Fairy Party photo shoot, so last week, I had lots of to-dos.

Party week always starts for me with a touch of panic. While the Flower Fairy Party is my main focus, I’m also planning something for July 4th and another party that’s top secret for now. And that’s typically how it is. Multiple parties floating around my head at one time. So, I have to start making notes. Then I have to try to read my handwriting. So I give up and type it up. And at some point, I actually have to accomplish today’s to-dos.
